Looking for a Assignar alternative?
Start with people, plant and field-to-finance records, not a winner’s badge. This guide helps Australian subcontractors decide what to test before replacing or supplementing Assignar.
What the official source documents
Assignar’s site describes construction operations covering people and equipment scheduling, time tracking, field forms, safety and compliance, job costing, progress tracking and reporting. Its positioning explicitly includes civil contractors and specialist trades.

Where SubbieSure fits
SubbieSure is built for Australian construction subcontractors. Our published product scope includes projects, people records, licences and competencies, scheduling, timesheets, documents, digital SWMS, prestarts, toolbox talks, incidents and investigations. Review the product guide and feature overview rather than assuming every advertised vendor capability has a SubbieSure equivalent.
We do not assert feature parity for estimating, specialist dispatch, accounting, payments or external integrations. Bring those requirements to a demonstration and obtain written confirmation before deciding to migrate.
A practical Assignar comparison scenario
Allocate an operator and machine to a job, capture hours and a plant prestart, record standby or a variation, then follow the data into costing.
Give both vendors the same inputs and roles. Record which steps need configuration, extra modules, another tool or manual re-entry. A useful demonstration ends with a retrievable record, not just a screen showing a feature name.
Questions to settle before choosing
- Which equipment hire rates and costing rules are essential?
- How are field records approved before payroll or billing?
- Which specific integrations and commercial modules does the quote cover?
Keep an existing system if it meets a required specialist or client workflow better. A complementary internal platform can be more appropriate than an outright replacement; confirm any data handoff rather than assuming integration.
Compare the complete commercial scope
Do not compare headline fees without the same scope. Ask each vendor for currency, GST treatment, billing term, minimums, modules, worker/client access, setup, training, integrations and data export costs. This guide does not reproduce competitors’ numeric prices or claim SubbieSure is cheaper.
SubbieSure’s published monthly pricing is progressive per active user: the first 100 at AUD $25 each, users 101–200 at $20 each, and users above 200 at $15 each, excluding GST. Onboarding is included and a free one-month trial is advertised. Check current pricing and calculator and confirm the current offer before budgeting.
Plan a reversible migration
Before cancelling anything, export a sample of workers, projects, documents, signatures and closed actions. Check what the export preserves, who owns it and how long records remain accessible. Pilot one crew or one job, verify access permissions and mobile behaviour in site conditions, then agree a rollback point. Do not discard historic evidence because a new system is ready to accept fresh records.
See your workflow, not just a feature list
Book a SubbieSure demo with a real project, a current form and the people who will use it. Compare the result with each vendor’s demonstration before changing systems. Software supports records and workflows; it does not guarantee WHS compliance or replace competent supervision and site-specific risk assessment.
